BT21 represents both BTS and the 21st century. They were created in late September 2017 by the members of the group. They spent a day sketching characters ideas at a Line Friends store and a team of designers helped them to turn the rough sketches into the well like characters. Each member has his own character.

* J-Hope created Mang which is a purple / blue dancing pony
* Jimin created Chimmy which is a yellow playful puppy
* Jin created RJ which is a white alpaca
* RM created Koya which is a sleepy blue koala
* Jungkook created Cooky which is a pink rabbit with attitude
* Suga created Shooky which is a brown cookie with bad attitude
* Designer team created Van which is a grey / white space robot that protects BT21
