Shipping

How do you ship? 

For most orders, we use USPS. Occasionally we may use UPS. For USPS orders, we will ship it either via First Class Mail or Priority Mail. International orders ship via USPS First Class Mail.

How much is shipping within the U.S.? 

This depends on the weight and the size of your package + packaging.

Under 1lb: $3.50

1lb - 2lb: $6.50

2lb - 3lb: $8.50

Over 3lb: $9.50

If your order is over $55, we’ll ship it to you for free! 

Do you ship internationally? 

Yes. We charge a flat rate of $12.50 for shipping to Canada and a flat rate of $24.50 for shipping elsewhere. 

Do you provide a tracking number?

Yes! All orders shipped will receive a tracking number. We’ll send you a tracking number as soon as your item has shipped. 

Once I’ve placed my order, how long does it take to ship?

We do our best to ship within a day! If you place your order early in the day, we’ll most likely be able to ship it out that same day if it’s a business day. For orders later in the day, we’ll ship it out the next business day. On the rare occasion your item isn’t immediately available to ship (ex: the last one of your item is located in another one of our stores), we’ll ship it out in 1- 2 days. 

How long will it take for me to receive my items after it has been shipped? 

Domestic orders take 1 - 5 business days from the shipping date to arrive while international orders may take up to 2 weeks. 

What if I just realized the address I put was incorrect? 

If you just placed your order, send us an email as soon as possible and we’ll change it on your order. However, we try to ship out packages so soon as possible (the same day or the next day), so if your item has already been sent, we’re sorry but there is not much we can do. USPS offers a Package Intercept service that you can try to get your mail redirected. Otherwise, if the package gets sent back to us, you’ll be responsible for the extra shipping fee. 

Packaging

How do you package my order? 

We make sure it arrives to you in the best condition possible, so for most orders we’ll put everything in a box. We wrap everything up nicely so that when it arrives to you, you can enjoy your unboxing experience! 

My order is a gift. Can you wrap it and make it look pretty? 

Of course! Please leave a note at checkout and we’ll go the extra mile to make it look extra pretty! If you include what the occasion your present is for, we’ll tailor it to the occasion. And, if you want us to attach a little card, tell us what you want the card to say, and we’ll include a handwritten note! 

Payment

What are your accepted payment methods? 

We accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express. You can also choose to use PayPal. 

Why am I redirected at checkout to a Shopify site? Is this secure? 

Our store’s shopping cart is hosted through Shopify and we chose Shopify because of its extremely secure network! It is certified Level 1 PCI DSS compliant which means it meets the standard for organizations that handle credit card and debit card information.

Where are your products from? 

Our products are from all over Asia! Our Amuse products are authentic and direct from Japan. We also have products from Korea, China, Taiwan and Hong Kong. 

Who runs Hilltop Gifts? 

We are a small family business! There are 4 of us, who run 2 stores and this online store! 

Are prices in your retail store the same as online? 

Prices may vary from in-store and online. Different factors, such as shipping, special offers and our in-store rewards program, may affect prices. 

Returns and Exchanges

My item arrived defective. What should I do? 

Oh no! We do our best to make sure all our items are in perfect condition when we ship them out, however if there is a problem with your item please send us a message with your order number and we’ll send you instruction to get a replacement delivered. 

I changed my mind about an item. Can I return it? 

As of now, we’re only accepting returns on damaged or defective items. Please see question above.
